Not Quite Symmetry
Broke, I’d like to borrow your lower half,
Wear it for a day, make some coins. I’d
Love to enter you, snug, but not through
The usual channel. You can invade me,
Feel my convexity, as I’m ventilated
By your absence, there, in the crotch.
My eyes shaded by your eyelids, I’ll
Conform to your nose’s architecture,
Breathe this life though your nostrils.

Building upon medieval, colonial, and ancient Andean influences, Ore-Giróns work allows multiple truths to exist in harmony and perhaps suggest new ways of thinking about how the past persists in the present.
Half a Dozen Fresh Baked Dances
By Hallie ChametzkyNOV 2022 | Dance
Named for the patisserie that once inhabited the 1920s-era building, Art Cake has taken the gallery aesthetic to the extreme with white floors, white curtains, white track lighting. Though seemingly designed for visual rather than performing arts (the floor is cement), this years second ever Dance Series featuring six artists showed its potential as a home for experimental dance.
Yoshiko Chumas Shockwave Delay
By Karen HildebrandJULY/AUG 2023 | Dance
Shockwave Delay, a two and a half hour unscripted docudrama of twenty overlapping chapters performed by a rotating cast of musicians, actors, and dancers, is like one of those kinetic sculptures where a ball travels through a complex course of loops, turns, triggers, and traps that goes on and on until youre sure, yes, this section is the home stretch. But no, its not the end.
